DRAWING SERVICES -

D2C can provide bespoke completion drawings for any well design using in house specialised AutoCAD software.

4 steps are recognised as the pillars of a completion.

Design    Manufacture & Sub Assembly    Installation   Completion Report

THE INELUCTABLE MODALITY OF THE VISIBLE.

A fundamental tenet of a D2C managed completion is that the drawing is the pre-eminent document.

Each pillar is represented by an identically formatted drawing – distinguished simply and immediately by its background colour – D is red, M is yellow, I is green and C is white. The 4 drawings together represent the history of the completion. At the end of the job they are rolled together and archived.

Operators and service companies obviously have their own management systems but at D2C -throughout the process of well construction - the relevant drawing is recognised as the modus operandi. As such it is given primary visibility.

The completing of a step in the completion process is formally marked by the issue of the next drawing – so highlighting that a stage has been reached. Not all equipment considered at the design stage will go to manufacturing; not all equipment manufactured will be installed. Late contingencies might mean the C drawing is different from the I drawing.

Standard well filing is still carried out – equipment lists, manufacturing timelines, inventory management, weekly reports etc. etc.

Like a transparency this system will easily juxtapose with existing internal client systems. More than once it has proved invaluable for troubleshooting.

Naturally 2 dimensional drawings are not new. What is new is that a single sheet document which is on permanent display in the base office should be recognised as the well’s reference point. We believe the industry has reached a stage where Engineers working lives are blighted by an obfuscating miasma of mindless administration. They only spend a tiny fraction of their time considering technical questions. Usually the key component details are filed away in different locations by different people with different interests; so critical yet simple questions – manufacturing lead times, internal od.s v. external i.d.s, exact seal sizes , tool histories etc etc – are not in the forefront of people’s minds and are often overlooked with expensive consequences.

OFFLINE MEETINGS AND TEAMBUILDING

D2C owns and manages a collection of flexible and versatile hospitality units which are collected around the main office on the same site. Up to (35) people at a time can stay here making it an ideal base for offline meetings or teambuilding sessions in the most tranquil of locations. There is a wide variety of room sizes and shapes – ideal for holding informal or formal meetings or hosting teambuilding sessions. This is an environment where work and leisure balance effortlessly.

WELL COMPLETIONS PERSONNEL

This is our mainspring. We have access to a very select group of Well Engineering professionals, ranging from supervisory personnel to rig site technicians. All of them are very experienced in their field and they have been hand picked for their knowledge of Completions which incorporate sand control (including Frac Packing). Companies featuring prominently on the cvs of these people include BP, Chevron, Statoil, Baker Hughes, Halliburton, Schlumberger and Weatherford. At the same time some individuals have been involved in leading edge technology with smaller more entrepreneurial companies like Petroline. Amongst the job titles listed are – Engineering Manager, Project Manager, Operations, Manager, Well Engineer, Frac Co-ordinator, Pumping Supervisor and Tool Specialists in Drill Stem Testing (DST), Tubing Conveyed Perforating (TCP), Sand Control tools and Upper Completions.

STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION

The company is situated on and owns a 60 acre site in North Yorkshire which is within block SE66 - immediately to the south of block SE57, which is already licensed for oil and gas exploration. It is also close by other such blocks. The 60 acres is not on a single site – it is spread over 11 individual plots ranging in size from 5-10 acres each. These are used as temporary storage compounds as and when required. It costs roughly £8/ sq m to put together a temporary compound at any chosen location. This includes a site security fence, a locked gate, a terram and geogrid base and 300 mm of clean quarry stone on top. To give an indication on timings : it takes about a week to put together a compound which is 3000 sq m in size.
